2026 Athens

Welcome

Dear colleagues and friends,

It is a great pleasure to welcome you to the 3rd International Conference of the European Association of Phenomenology, Psychopathology and Psychotherapy (EAPPP), taking place in Athens on 2 & 3 October 2026.

The conference is organized by the European Association of Phenomenology, Psychopathology and Psychotherapy (EAPPP), under the auspices of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA) and its Medical School, and in co-organization with the 1st Department of Psychiatry of the Medical School of Athens. It is further supported by the Institut français de Grèce and the Ambassade de France en Grèce, whose contribution we gratefully acknowledge.

Under the theme “Phenomenology and Psychotherapy: Disclosing Meaning in Encounters,” this meeting brings together clinicians, researchers, and scholars from different disciplines, with the aim of fostering dialogue and thoughtful exchange around questions that remain central to both theory and practice.

Taking place in Athens, a city with a long-standing intellectual tradition and a continuing openness to dialogue across disciplines and cultures, the conference seeks to provide a setting where ideas can be explored in depth and in connection with a broader humanistic context.

We are especially pleased to host the conference at the Institut français de Grèce, located in the center of the city, at the foot of Mount Lycabettus. The venue offers a setting that encourages reflection, openness, and the encounter of perspectives within an international environment.

We hope that this conference will offer a meaningful space for exchange and collaboration.

On behalf of the organizing committee, I warmly welcome you and look forward to the conversations that will unfold over the course of these two days.

With kind regards,
Rosita Christofidelli
President EAPPP
European Association of Phenomenology, Psychopathology and Psychotherapy (EAPPP)
