Psychotic experience is commonly grouped under the heading of altered states of consciousness alongside psychedelic,
dream and mystical experience, but comparisons between these states are usually superficial, quantitative, or done only
in parts. This symposium proposes a methodological framework of differential phenomenology — combining dialogical,
Bakhtin/Jaspers-informed interviews with philosophical analysis — to build a systematic map of overlaps and differences
between psychosis, mystical experience, psychedelia, paracosms, and dreams.
